Take That lifts the soul

A busy week of work has past
All my tasks complete at last
The weekend comes along and so
It's off to see Take That we go



Up to Wembley with the others
85,000 excitedly gathered
Both the music and the show
Are the focus of them all below



We're in the Gods, near the arch
Way up high reminiscing the past
Pet shop boys are amazingly great
But it's the other boys that we await



The countdown comes, The roar surrounds
Everyone's expectant cheers abound
The music starts, We hold our breath
Gary comes first, then come the rest



Four of them sing their songs first
Joy and cheers and voices burst
This is what we came to see
£71, it's a bargain to me



You've never seen such amazing staging
Dancers, acrobats, caterpillars pacing
So much to see, to take all in
There is no doubt, with this they win



Then comes Robbie, he rocks the place
Sings his hits and states his case
He's come undone, yet oh so present
Angels sore to the stadium's crescent



Tears pour down,  it touches my soul
Every time sung, it hits the goal
Memories flood, emotions flow
Then it's done, on with the show



Now the five are on stage together
Promising that this time's forever
The flood is truly awe-inspiring
Acrobats and Robbie's daring



A chess board becomes the focus now
Dancers as chess pieces having a row
Kids the song, a dance-off amazes
Howard and Jason put through their paces



I can't remember which song came next
Enough to say those boys don't rest
And then a piano emerged on the stage
Back to their roots they sang and played



Songs we knew two decades ago
Took us back, where'd the years go?
Songs that make the years disappear
Still sound good upon our ears



Did I mention the giant robot?
Not something I think that we'll forget
It progressed forward through the evening
Till at the end it was up standing 



Everything about the concert
Filled my soul, although my legs hurt
Years have past but still we feel
Young and free and full of zeal



Thanks Take That for such a show
Giving us fans the chance to go
Enjoy the songs and entertainment
Truly the evening was heaven sent.
