On midday on 4th June, a warm but overcast day, we went to the New Forest Reptile Centre. We had been last summer and not seen a lot, but we thought we'd try again. Success, today was perfect for seeing lots of reptiles.
This was our haul of spottings:
Common Lizard x7
Sand lizard x3
Newt
Aquatic snail
Water boatman x lots
Natterjack toad x2
Natterjack toad tadpoles x hundreds
Adder
Green frog x4 (1 pair mating & calling)
Common toad x3
And here are some photos for you to spot the reptiles yourself:
Young Natterjack toad
Sand Lizards
Green frog
Common lizard
Common toads
And a video of the adder which I hope you can see. The sound in the background is Rachel reading the information board.
